Drive Any Track

Drive Any Track - Race Your Music Library

Added on May 21, 2015 by Ali Beasley.

Drive Any Track (DAT) is a unique music based driving game that turns any song into a 3D arcade race track. DAT combines music-based track generation with acrobatic score-attack stunt racing.

DAT is inspired by some of our favourite games like Wipeout, Trackmania, Vib-Ribbon and Audiosurf.

The game is currently at Alpha stage and was Greenlit on Steam after just 12 days. DAT will now be released as an Early Access title on Steam on 21st May 2015.

You can watch a full track play through here:

And check out DAT’s store page on Steam here:

Gameplay

DAT takes music gaming to the next level. Our innovative MEGA engine takes any song, analyses it down to its core components and creates a unique racing experience from it.

Action on track is synced to the audio, you literally have to race the music to stay in time and score points.

Verses, choruses and drops become checkpoints, and the environment and cars are styled to the genre of music you're playing.

Experiment with your music collection and find out which songs make the best racetracks!

Be the first to 'create' a race-track from a song and have your name forever enshrined on the track’s leaderboard.

Challenge your friends' ghosts to your favourite tunes and beat their high-scores on track.

Score big for staying in sync, whilst performing stunts, jumps, drifts and rolls!

Drive Any Track is currently in continuous development, with three genre styles already created (Dance, Rock, Urban), and a selection of unique cars and liveries (and some secret cars you have to work out how to unlock!).

As development continues we plan to add more musicality, genre styles, cars, stunts and gameplay elements.

“What is to my taste are Drive Any Track’s luscious visuals and the idea of feeding my music into Drive Any Track to make sweet obstacle courses.” Shaun Green - Rock, Paper, Shotgun

“Drive Any Track dropped its first trailer today to show the world what happens when you combine music-based course generation with acrobatic score-attack stunt racing.  At it turns out, it looks pretty slick.” James Cunningham - Hardcore Gamer

The partnership

FOAM initially prototyped Drive Any Track in house, but soon realised that if we were deliver the kind of adrenaline-fuelled arcade driving experience DAT really needed, we were going to need a partner who was a racing games specialist. After a chance meeting 18 months ago in LA, Firebrand and FOAM have worked closely together developing DAT in partnership to create what we believe is a really innovative and exciting game.
